Rampant Unpardonable Technophilia

say
I was one of those kids who inexplicably found wanderin around stationery stores to be the most fun you could have. Even though I had little practical use for the huge collection of pens, notepaper and rubbers I tended to pick up I loved the idea of being able to do things with them. Even today I have fond memories of the Derby branch of Partners.

But I also have insatiable technolust. Ask anyone from my homeland who was around in my formative years, they will probably remember my raving about the ZX Spectrum game The Hobbit (despite the machine being obsolete for about 15 years by that point) or how my Dad's 286 had 2 whole MB of RAM, and how DOS 6.o was much better than Windows 3.11.

Ah, the wisdom of youth. Anyway, I have found the perfect interface of technolust and stationery - I bring you the Lightscribe Pulse!

'the Pulse -which contains a microphone, speaker and tiny camera, as well as one or two gigabytes of memory - is simple to use: just write. But not anywhere - you need special paper printed with tiny dots, which the Pulse uses to record not only your writing but also anything you say while writing. Even better, by tapping on the section of text it instantly starts audio playback. You can use some of the Pulse's functions on regular paper, as the company supplies stickers which can be put in notebooks and let you record and play back, even if you won't be able to sync the audio with notes'

Is that the coolest widget ever invented or what?
